Dr. Dhanani was so moved by Operation Smile’s heroic efforts in Peru that he immediately took it upon himself to create, lead, and spread this charitable mission by supporting it from America. As the founding president of Operation Smile at the University of Georgia, Dr. Dhanani created and developed the organization to help save more than 100 children’s major cleft lip and cleft palate birth deformities to surgically restore their smiles, breathing airways, and allow the children to live a normal life in which they can eat, talk, laugh, and smile with full health and self-confidence joyously without being afraid.
